Dealing with water or moisture, waterproof is essentially important. The components of the Plantmate Ⓡ Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor are over-molding, it is waterproof;
Plantmate Ⓡ Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor has the sensor probes on both sides of the PCB, it is more sensitive and accurate;
Plantmate Ⓡ Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor has a longer cable to contact with your Arduino board, cable itself is about 85cm with a Micro USB male end. it comes with a Micro USB female adapter to make it even easier to use. Surely that you can cut off the Micro USB male end to contact your Arduino pins directly.
Plantmate Ⓡ Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor operates with 3.3V and it is compatible with low-voltage MCUs. To make it compatible with a Raspberry Pi, an ADC converter is required.

Building 2 raised bed garden with Plantmate moisture sensors. Among all sensors tested, Plantmate, you guys got it.
One thing, do not apply 5v on sensors, as I blew one. Other than that, great product.
