Power the sensor from 3.3V DC only. Never apply 5V or connect its Micro-USB plug to a computer, charger, power bank, or standard USB power socket.

This capacitive module produces an analog output for a compatible microcontroller or ADC. Its response depends on the soil and installation, so the project must establish dry and wet reference values.

Calibration and voltage note
Soil type, salinity, pot shape, sensor depth and watering placement can all change the reading. Use only a 3.3V supply and calibrate the assembled project before relying on thresholds.

Building 2 raised bed garden with Plantmate moisture sensors. Among all sensors tested, Plantmate, you guys got it.
One thing, do not apply 5v on sensors, as I blew one. Other than that, great product.
