By the end of this video, you’ll have a complete understanding of how your Plantmate system works and how to keep your plants healthy and happy with automated watering and monitoring.
Accessing the Web App
To access the Plantmate Web App, open your preferred web browser and type Plantmate.local.
The app consists of four easy-to-navigate pages displayed in a bottom navigation bar:
- Home Page: Displays real-time data such as temperature, humidity, light level, and soil moisture for each plant. You can monitor live changes and adjust the data update rate using the progress bar.
- Micro-SD Card Page: Used for data storage and advanced logging functions.
- Watering Actions Page: Displays the last five watering actions, showing when the pump was activated for each plant.
- Settings Page: Lets you customize your device settings, calibrate sensors, and perform updates.
Settings & Calibration
The Settings Page is the control center for your Plantmate device. Here, you can:
- Adjust moisture thresholds by moving the slider bar.
- Manually turn the pump on or off.
- Calibrate each moisture sensor, for example, set Sensor #1 to 0% by clicking on its settings and pressing Start.
- Rename your web app from Plantmate.local to a custom name.
- Change temperature units between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
- Set your local time zone.
- Adjust offset values for temperature, humidity, and light if readings appear inaccurate.
- Perform system updates and check your device information at the bottom of the page.
These settings give you complete control to fine-tune your system’s performance.
Factory Reset & Wi-Fi Reset
Both reset functions use the same steps; the difference is:
- Wi-Fi Reset clears only your Wi-Fi configuration.
- Factory Reset clears all user settings, including Wi-Fi and calibration data.
To perform a reset:
- Use a pin to press the reset button on the back of the device (choose either Factory or Wi-Fi Reset).
- Complete the setup within two minutes, or the device will restart without resetting.
- Open your mobile or computer Wi-Fi settings and connect to Plantmate.local.
- When the Plantmate Wi-Fi Manager window appears, tap “Configure Wi-Fi.”
- Select your regular Wi-Fi network, enter your password, and press Save.
- Once you see the “Congrats!” page, the setup is complete and your Plantmate is ready to reconnect.
After resetting, your device is refreshed and ready to operate smoothly.
